Electrical & Electronics — Angola

Certification Introduction

Angola implements mandatory market access certification for electrical and electronic products, which is supervised by the National Institute of Metrology, Standardization and Quality of Angola (INACOQ, also abbreviated as INACOP). All electrical and electronic products imported or sold in the Angolan market must obtain this certification. Products without certification cannot complete customs clearance procedures, and are not allowed to circulate or be sold in the Angolan market. Only certified products affixed with the required certification mark can be launched on the market.

Technical Requirements

Tests are conducted in accordance with Angolan national standards (ANGN/AO number), which are mainly adapted from international IEC standards: Safety requirements correspond to ANGN 21101/AO 62368-1 (based on IEC 62368-1, which has gradually replaced the old version AO 60950-1), and electromagnetic compatibility requirements correspond to ANGN 21102/AO 61000 series (based on IEC 61000). Valid test reports issued by ILAC-accredited laboratories are required. For some high-risk products, sample submission to Angola's designated laboratory for retesting may be required. All non-Portuguese application materials and technical documents must complete notarized translation.

Certification Process

Prepare application materials, including product application form, technical documents, commercial documents and the authorization agreement signed by a locally registered agent in Angola;
Submit the application to INACOQ or its authorized body and pay the relevant fees;
INACOQ completes the completeness review of application documents;
Arrange sample testing after the application is approved, and on-site factory audit is additionally required for high-risk electrical and electronic products;
After all review and testing links are passed, the INACOQ certification certificate will be issued. The certificate is valid for 1-3 years, and the validity of the certificate needs to be maintained in accordance with official requirements.
