Electrical & Electronics — Angola

Certification Introduction

Angola implements mandatory market access certification for electronic and electrical products, administered by the National Institute of Metrology, Standardization and Quality of Angola (INACOQ, also abbreviated as INACOP). All electronic and electrical products imported or sold in the Angolan market must obtain this certification. Products without certification cannot complete customs clearance, and are not allowed to circulate or sell in the Angolan market. Certified qualified products must be affixed with the specified certification mark before they can be launched on the market.

Technical Requirements

  • Testing is carried out in accordance with Angolan national standards (ANGN/AO numbered), which are mainly adapted from international IEC standards: Safety requirements correspond to ANGN 21101/AO 62368-1 (based on IEC 62368-1, which has gradually replaced the older version AO 60950-1), and electromagnetic compatibility requirements correspond to ANGN 21102/AO 61000 series (based on IEC 61000).
  • Valid test reports issued by ILAC-accredited laboratories are required. Some high-risk products may require retesting of samples sent to Angola's designated laboratories.
  • All non-Portuguese application materials and technical documents must undergo notarized translation.

Certification Process

Prepare application materials, including the product application form, technical documents, commercial documents, and the authorization agreement signed by a locally registered agent in Angola; submit the application to INACOQ or its authorized body and pay the relevant fees; INACOQ completes the completeness review of application documents; arrange sample testing after passing the review, and high-risk electronic and electrical products require additional on-site factory audit; after passing all review and testing links, the INACOQ certification certificate is issued, the certificate is valid for 1-3 years, and the certificate validity needs to be maintained in accordance with official requirements.
