Certification Introduction

Robots (including consumer home robots and industrial robots) exported to Saudi Arabia must comply with the official mandatory conformity certification requirements of Saudi Arabia, and the entire process is processed through the Saudi SABER online platform. As high-risk regulated electromechanical products, they must obtain both PC (Product Conformity Certificate) + SC (Shipment Conformity Certificate) to complete customs clearance and enter the market; robots with wireless communication functions (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.) require additional type approval from the Saudi Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC).

Laws and Regulations

Market access supervision is governed by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO). The current SABER electronic certification system is implemented under the IECEE RoC (Registration Certificate) control framework, and complies with the unified technical regulatory requirements of the Gulf Standards Organization (GSO). All imported robots must hold a compliance certificate to complete customs clearance and be launched on the market. The latest requirements can be checked and confirmed on the official SASO platform.

Technical Requirements

Safety Standards: Home robots comply with IEC 60335-2-95, and general electromechanical robots comply with IEC 62368-1; Electromagnetic Compatibility: Comply with CISPR 14-1 and CISPR 32 standards; Battery Requirements: Built-in lithium batteries need to provide UN38.3 test reports and IEC 62133 certification; Special Requirements: Industrial robots must meet the test requirements for high temperature environment adaptability and sand dust sealing; Labeling Requirements: Products and packaging must be provided with bilingual labels in Arabic/English, and the instruction manual must include safety warning content in Arabic.

Certification Process

[Submit product samples to an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory to complete testing, and obtain a CB test report covering Saudi national differences and an IECEE certificate;

[The local Saudi importer registers an account on the SABER platform, submits test certificates, technical documents, labels, instruction manuals and other materials to apply for a PC certificate; 3[After passing the PC certificate review and obtaining the 1-year valid product certification, before each shipment, submit batch documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, cargo photos and link to the PC certificate to apply for an SC certificate;
