Certification Introduction

Togo implements mandatory ICQN certification for electronic and electrical products included in its regulatory control list. This certification is a necessary prerequisite for product customs clearance and legal market entry. The scope covers most common electronic and electrical categories including major household appliances, low-voltage electrical appliances, lighting products, etc. It is managed by Togo's official competent quality authority, with the core objective of regulating the safety, electromagnetic compatibility and energy efficiency performance of imported products.

Laws and Regulations

The core regulatory basis is Togo Decree No. 2018-012, which clearly stipulates that electronic and electrical products included in the mandatory catalog must obtain conformity certification before they can be placed on the market; Starting from January 2024, Togo added mandatory implementation requirements for the new version of the energy efficiency labeling system. Technical Requirements

Safety performance adopts the IEC 60335 series of international standards, electromagnetic compatibility complies with CISPR 14-1 standard, and refrigeration-type electronic and electrical products need to meet additional energy efficiency indicator requirements; Products must adapt to Togo's grid parameters: rated voltage 220-240V, frequency 50Hz, with a withstand voltage fluctuation range of ±10%; Plugs must comply with NF C 61-314 standard, products must carry permanent French identification indicating rated parameters, waterproof grade, and manufacturer information; Electronic and electrical products with wireless functions need additional confirmation of frequency compliance requirements, and specific rules should be consulted with the local competent authority.

Certification Process

Prepare application materials, including application forms filled in French or English, complete product technical documents (circuit diagrams, instruction manuals, BOM lists), valid test reports conforming to IEC/CB standards, and manufacturer qualification documents;

Send samples to ICQN-approved laboratories to complete testing of required items;

For enterprises with annual shipments exceeding 5,000 units, on-site factory audit by the competent authority is required to verify the production line quality control system;

After passing all tests and audits, the ICQN certification certificate is issued, and products can be cleared and marketed after affixing the compliance certification mark.
