For the Palestinian West Bank market, electronic and electrical products must meet the mandatory PMA certification requirements of the Palestinian Metrology Authority (PMA, also known as the Palestinian Standards and Metrology Institute PSI) to be sold in the market. This certification applies to most electronic and electrical products, including household appliances, industrial electronic equipment, lighting products, information technology equipment, etc., covering compliance verification of product safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and energy efficiency performance, and is a necessary requirement for product customs clearance and market launch.

Currently, the compliance of electronic and electrical products in the Palestinian West Bank follows the mandatory conformity assessment regulations for electrical equipment issued by PMA. There is no independent written special parliamentary act, and all regulatory requirements are uniformly released and updated by PMA. This system recognizes internationally accepted standards as the basis for compliance, and has not introduced localized mandatory clauses completely detached from international standards. The mandatory certification scope for specific products shall be subject to the latest announcement on PMA's official website.

Core test items include electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility, and energy efficiency, with varying requirements for different product types. Safety standards usually adopt Palestinian local specifications converted from international IEC standards. For example, information technology equipment refers to the IEC 62368/IEC 60950 series, and household appliances refer to the IEC 60335 series. EMC requirements correspond to the CISPR and IEC 61000 series international standards. The grid supply is 230V/50Hz, and products must adapt to ±10% voltage fluctuation. All product labels and technical documents must be provided in Arabic. After passing certification, products must be marked with the PMA certification mark. Some high-risk products require additional factory consistency inspection. Products with existing CB certification can simplify part of the testing process.
