Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) of the UAE has formally issued a decision on Euro 6b emission standards: extend the implementation deadline for Euro 6b emission standards for passenger vehicles and heavy-duty vehicles.

Before September 30, 2026, new models of passenger vehicles and heavy-duty vehicles can still be allowed to enter the country in accordance with Euro 5 emission standards; starting from October 1, 2026, newly applied passenger vehicles and heavy-duty vehicles must strictly comply with the Euro 6b standard. Except for passenger vehicles and heavy-duty vehicles, the implementation date of Euro 6b emission standards for other vehicle categories remains unchanged.

Additionally, Wanwei has recently reconfirmed the implementation standards for ecall with MoIAT. The official clearly requires: The implementation standards adopted for ecall crash test reports and ecall TDRA certificates must be based on UAE.S 5019: 2024.
