From June to August 2026, multiple countries completed updates to radio and communication-related regulations and policies, covering key markets such as Saudi Arabia, Brazil, India, and Vietnam, bringing new compliance challenges and time windows for import and export enterprises. This round of updates focuses on spectrum regulatory rules, wireless equipment certification and market access mechanisms, and compliance implementation requirements for new technologies. Please refer to the details below for the key changes.
I. June Regulatory Updates:
Chile | Resolución Exenta N° 966 de 2026
The regulation adjusted the QR code compliance labeling requirements; optimized the submission method for confidential test reports; and added frequency band specifications for medical devices.
Saudi Arabia | SASO 3114:2026
The SASO CTCGEN-002 standard was updated to SASO 3114:2026, and the new standard will be mandatory starting November 1, 2026. PC and SC certificates issued under the old standard SASO CITC GEN-002 will expire on March 31, 2027. The new standard regulates the following products: smartphones, tablets and mobile computers, routers and customer premises equipment, other cellular devices, optical network terminals (ONT) and home access gateways (HAG), and Wi-Fi distribution devices.
Singapore | IMDA TS RG-SEC
The regulation mandates synchronization of the IMDA TS RG-SEC and CSA CLS Level 2 requirements to minimize critical vulnerabilities in IoT networks.
Malaysia | MCMC MTSFB TC T007:2026 (Third Revision)
This update involves short-range devices, and this version has updated frequency bands, limits, and technologies according to the latest local class assignments.
India | G.S.R. 468 (E)
India opened the 77-81 GHz band for automotive radar and exempted it from spectrum licensing.
Niger | 000/MCP/EN/SG/DL
New type approval rules were announced, mainly including: the validity period of certification was shortened from 10 years to 3 years; certificates issued before the signing of this decree will remain valid for their originally specified validity period.
Paraguay | No.1035/2025
It was decided to open the 5925-6425 MHz band for low-power wireless access systems, namely Wi-Fi 6E devices; it was clarified that the 6 GHz sub-band within the 6425-7125 MHz range is prohibited for use within Paraguay.
II. July Regulatory Updates:
Vietnam | 36/2026/TT-BKHCN
A list of high-risk products was established, clarifying compliance regulatory requirements. It officially took effect on July 1, 2026, and replaced Circular No. 29/2025/TT-BKHCN.
Brazil | ANATEL Act No. 14158
It regulated the 5 GHz band commonly used by Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 6 devices, and it will be mandatory starting October 6, 2026.
Chile | Exempt Resolution No. 996
It amended Resolution No. 1985 on SRD technical standards and adjusted the QR code compliance requirements.
Brazil | CONAMA 516/2026
Brazil published its first RoHS regulation in the Official Gazette, aiming to promote a sustainable lifecycle for electrical and electronic equipment. The resolution took effect on July 10, 2026.
Malaysia | MCMC MTSFB TC T022:2026
A new MCMC technical specification was issued: Communication Equipment — Essential Requirements.
South Africa | No. 54718
The regulation manages the use of two frequency bands, 3800 to 4200 MHz (ISFR 1) and 5925 to 6425 MHz (ISFR 2).
India | TEC 38020:2026
TEC issued a draft standard for Wi-Fi access points for public consultation, with comments accepted until September 6, 2026.
Bahrain | LAD/0726/023
A position paper on the use of license-exempt bands was issued. All radio equipment used in license-exempt bands must obtain TRA type approval, unless otherwise exempted by applicable regulations.
III. August Regulatory Updates:
Brazil | Act No. 10.400/2026
The regulation reduced the available spectrum for Wi-Fi in Brazil's 6 GHz band from the original 5925–7125 MHz to 5925–6425 MHz. The original 6425–7125 MHz will no longer be available for Wi-Fi operation. The regulation will be mandatory starting March 1, 2027.
Canada | RSS-Gen (Rev 6); RSS-310 (Rev 6)
Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada issued radio standards specifications. The new standards have a one-year transition period, during which the previous version or the revised version may be used for applicable certification and conformity assessment.
India | NCCS/SC/3-1/2025-26-Part(2)
NCCS once again extended the exemption period for security certification of cloud IP routers and Wi-Fi CPE devices.
