Industry News

1. Release and Implementation Time of the Standard

On November 19, 2025, the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) officially released EN 1175:2025 "Safety of Industrial Trucks—Electrical/Electronic Requirements", which will come into effect on January 15, 2026. On May 31, 2026, this standard will officially replace EN 1175:2020 and become a harmonized standard for the Mechanical Directive. For all manufacturers, suppliers of self-propelled industrial trucks, and relevant enterprises exporting to the EU, understanding and implementing the requirements of the new standard directly affects whether products can enter the EU market smoothly.

2. Background of Standard Revision

This standard update is mainly aimed at incorporating the latest technological improvements and aligning with the upcoming EU Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 and related reference standards. It also explicitly requires alignment with the latest version of EN ISO 13849-1:2023 for safety function standards of control systems.

3. Enterprise Response Measures

Industrial truck manufacturers currently need to reassess differences in electrical design, testing, and certification of products based on EN 1175:2025. They should also reassess the Performance Level (PL) of the entire machine or obtain full machine functional safety certification in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1:2023. Meanwhile, the compliance basis for electrical safety in the Technical File (TCF) of exported products also needs to be updated synchronously.
