Certification Introduction

Mali implements a mandatory MLI Conformity Assessment Program (commonly known as Mali COC Certification) for imported electrical and electronic products, which is a necessary prerequisite for products to clear customs legally and enter the Mali market for sales. This certification is supervised by the Malian Agency for Standardization (AMANORM), compatible with the unified regional compliance requirements of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and aims to ensure that imported products meet local safety, health and environmental protection requirements. Products without valid certificates will face risks of customs clearance blockage, fines or return shipment.

Technical Requirements

Standard Acceptance: IEC international general standards are recognized, and valid test reports from existing international certifications such as CE and CB can usually be accepted for assessment. Electrical Safety: It adapts to Mali's 220V/50Hz power supply requirements and meets basic safety indicators such as electric shock prevention and fire prevention specified in the corresponding IEC standards. Electromagnetic Compatibility: Comply with the electromagnetic compatibility requirements of the IEC/CISPR series, and wireless products additionally need to meet AMRTP radio frequency specifications. Energy Efficiency and Environmental Protection: Products such as refrigeration household appliances need to provide energy efficiency test reports and affix qualified energy efficiency labels, and hazardous substances shall comply with relevant control requirements. Marking Requirements: Product nameplates, labels and instruction manuals shall contain clear French information, marking manufacturer information, product model, technical parameters and safety warnings.

Certification Process

Confirm product classification and corresponding applicable standards, then prepare a complete set of application materials, including the fully filled application form, commercial invoice, packing list, product test report issued by an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory, product technical specification and other required documents.
Submit the materials to the authorized institution for document review. If the materials are incomplete or the test does not meet the requirements, you need to supplement materials or conduct retesting.
According to the product risk level, pre-shipment inspection or sampling testing shall be completed as required (if applicable).
After all links pass the review, you can obtain the Certificate of Conformity (CoC) for customs clearance.
