Electrical & Electronics — Israel

Certification Introduction

For controlled electrical and electronic products exported to Israel, certification issued by the Standards Institute of Israel (SII) is a mandatory requirement for product customs clearance and legal market access. SII is an officially authorized authority in Israel for standard development, product testing and certification, directly managed by the Israeli Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor. Israel is a member of IECEE-CB, it recognizes compliant CB test reports for certification conversion, and only requires additional testing to meet Israeli national differences.

Technical Requirements

  • Safety standards: converted based on IEC international standards, general safety requirements implement SI 60335-1 (corresponding to IEC 60335-1), different product categories correspond to dedicated SI standards
  • EMC requirements: electromagnetic compatibility testing implements SI 55014 standard, which is equivalent to CISPR 14
  • Energy efficiency requirements: household electrical and electronic products must meet the requirements of energy efficiency labeling regulations such as SI 9002.3
  • Additional requirements: plugs must mandatorily comply with the SI 32 standard for three-pin round plugs, and product labels must include Hebrew safety warnings

Certification Process

Submit certification application and complete technical documents, including product circuit diagrams, BOM lists, product instruction manuals, etc.; conduct sample type testing. Holders of valid CB reports can convert their certification, only requiring supplementary testing for Israeli national differences; factory production system audit is mandatory for initial certification; after obtaining certification, annual supervised sampling inspection is required. The initial validity of the certificate is 3 years, and renewal can be applied for upon expiration.
