Electrical & Electronics — Haiti

Certification Introduction

Haiti enforces mandatory compliance access requirements for electrical and electronic products that are imported or launched locally. The supervision is coordinated by the Haitian National Bureau of Standards (ANH), and the National Building and Housing Commission (CNBH) is responsible for conducting specific safety assessments. This requirement applies to most low-voltage electrical and electronic products for civilian and industrial use. Products that fail to obtain certification cannot clear customs, are prohibited from circulating in the market, and non-compliant products will be returned or fined.

Technical Requirements

Electrical Safety: It follows general international IEC standards. Household appliances comply with IEC 60335, and information technology equipment complies with IEC 60950. Core tests including insulation withstand voltage, grounding continuity, fire resistance and flame retardancy are required. Electromagnetic Compatibility: The CISPR 11/EN 55011 standard is adopted to limit electromagnetic disturbance and meet anti-interference index requirements. Energy Efficiency and Environmental Protection: Air conditioners and lighting products must meet the requirements of Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS), and the content of hazardous substances must meet RoHS limit requirements. Labeling Requirements: The product nameplate must be marked with safety warnings in French or Creole, as well as information of the local agent in Haiti.

Certification Process

Prepare application materials, including product technical documents (circuit diagrams, component lists, etc.), conformity test reports issued by ILAC-accredited institutions, and the manufacturer's declaration of conformity;
Submit the certification application and complete materials to the competent authority of Haiti, and complete the preliminary formal review;
Provide 2-3 samples to the designated laboratory for testing as required, and high-risk products require a supplementary on-site factory audit;
The competent authority completes the review based on the test results and submitted materials, and issues a certification certificate with a validity of 3 years after approval. Certified products are subject to regular random inspection in the market.
